The Bran Castle is a symbol of Romanian tourism not just because of the legend of Count Dracula. It is believed that the castle belonged to Vlad Tepes. The citadel has four towers located in the four cardinal points. Just like the walls of the castle, the towers are constructed entirely out of massive stone bricks. The chambers and the corridors form, within the castle, a mysterious maze. In the inner courtyard of the castle there is a fountain which connects with the secret hidings.

The Rasnov Citadel was erected mainly in the same period as the Prejmer Citadel, and was officially documented for the first tine in the year 1355. During the next centuries, the citadel was rebuilt and reinforced several times and it is now one of the most beautiful citadels of Romania . Mihai Viteazu's troops found refuge here after their defeat in the battle of Miraslau. Piatra Craiului is one of the massifs of the Meridional Carpathians and is situated in the Rucar-Bran couloir. It is Romania 's highest calciferous crest as it's maximum altitude is registered to be as high as 2238 meters (La Om Peak or Baciului Summit). It is also a very complex natural reservation which holds 53 endemic species.
